What is extrusion?
Cooking under pressure.
Inside the extruder, the mix travels along the barrel in which the screw turns, towards the open end, and is shaped, cut and cooked under intense heat and pressure. As it leaves the die, the sudden drop in pressure makes the product expand; its density, shape and texture are set in that moment.
Single-screw extruders are simpler and more economical; twin-screw extruders handle a wider range of raw materials and higher fat and moisture levels, and control product density more precisely. Floating, sinking and slow-sinking fish feed pellets are the result of this control.

Pilot and laboratory scale
No pilot-scale system is too small for us.
We work where the large machinery firms do not: laboratory and pilot-scale extruders and dryers for university laboratories, R&D units and boutique producers. Test your own product before moving to an industrial line.
