01·Line journey

From starch to pre-gelatinised starch.

  1. Screw conveyor

    Feeding

    Screw conveyor

Native starch is transferred to the extruder’s feed hopper.

  2. SP85-II twin-screw or SP130 single-screw extruder
A step that completes the line end to end

    Extrusion

    SP85-II twin-screw or SP130 single-screw extruder

Heat and pressure in the extruder gelatinise the starch; it leaves the die as porous ropes.

Production line features

Pre-gelatinized starch / modified starch making machinery can produce denatured starch. Pre-gelatinized starch is an effective and economical fluid-loss agent in water-based drilling fluids. It does not undergo bacterial degradation at 120°C, and it is environmentally acceptable and non-toxic. Modified starch can produce a thin, slick, tough filter cake and promotes faster penetration rates with reduced friction. It can be used in all kinds of drilling fluid systems. Pre-gelatinized starch is also used to make products easier to dissolve during manufacture. Modified starch is widely used in the oil drilling, textile, paper and food industries.
